First Time Parents Workshop at The Parenting Emporium by Manila Workshops

I have been getting a lot of inquiries from expectant parents on workshops that are fit for them. I apologize as I haven’t been writing much about pregnancy and infant or baby related stuff. My daughter just turned four and she’s growing up so fast. I remember how it is though, when I was scrambling for information. Most first time parents are scared as this is the first time that you will be undergoing all — ALL of these things. Rightly so, it is understandable that you feel a little bit scared mixed with mostly excitement. I felt the same way! haha! So, here is good news for you! Manila Workshops and The Parenting Emporium, together with Stemcord Philippines Inc., will have another run of the All about Breastfeeding and Baby & Toddler Care Nutrition, this coming April 22.

If you want to attend, just go to this link, http://manilaworkshops.com/events/first-time-parents-workshop-series-2017-2nd-run and purchase tickets. All of us need the help that we can get to know how to care for your little one. I remember the time before I had my daughter, we would regularly go to workshops like this to learn as much as we could about breastfeeding, nutrition, etc.  Sessions like these really helped us.

OB Check-ups and Pregnancy Nutrition

As first time parents, we don’t know what to expect when we go to our OB-GYN. I remember during my pre-natal visits, my husband would come with me and he had more questions! haha!

Preparing for Delivery Day/Newborn Care (delivery options, taking care of newborn)

Some of the articles below are from my own blog. I wrote it so that you can see how I wrote my birth plan and what were the stuff I brought to the hospital.

All About Breastfeeding

I exclusively breastfed my daughter for 1 year + and I think it really did her good. She hardly gets sick and she’s always so alive, awake and enthusiastic!

Baby and Toddler Nutrition and Care

With our little ones, we often wonder if we are giving them enough vitamins and nutrients.

First Time Expectant Parents vs Second Time Expectant Parents vs Third Time…

We’re thinking of having another baby next year and I think it will be as challenging as how it was with our first child. I’m sure a lot of second time expectant parents know what I’m talking about. Based on talks with friends, not a single one of them said that it gets easier the second time around. Sure, you would already know the basics, like how to change a diaper, how and when to give them solid food, or that breastmilk is still the best for any baby, but it will still be challenging. Why? It will be challenging because each child is different.

You’re not just buying the same doll off from a store’s shelf! Haha! The challenge is really adjusting once again to that particular child. Little Ginger

I do love having someone to look after (aside from looking after my husband). I love being a mom, even if it may seem to many that I highlight my businesses more over my family in conversations. Even if I don’t talk about my family as much as I babble about business and my new ventures, I love the spontaneous, silly conversations that I have with my 3 year old daughter at times when I’m home. I love wandering through the streets in our community when we both need breaks from working (for me) and from eating and playing (for her). I love the hugs and the kisses and the surprise “i love you, mama!” that she gives all throughout the day.

If you are expecting a child, there is nothing more challenging (even more challenging than running a business!), fulfilling, precious, exciting, etc. (there are tons of adjectives really) as raising your own child.

Is my Life Going to Change now that I’m a Parent? (First Time Parents Workshop Series!)

I had a conversation with a friend recently and she was asking me what my happiest moment was. I did not hesitate and immediately said it was the day I gave birth to my daughter. That was the day my life changed completely — totally — drastically! Haha! As a first time parent, I now know the importance of sleep. I now know how it feels to be completely responsible for another person’s well being and safety. I now know how much love you can actually give and I mean real love — the love that is defined by sacrifice and putting another person’s needs first before yours.

First time Parents

Being a first time parent means a lot of joyous and super fun days, but also a lot of days of frustration and worry. It means having to go through the highest of highs of moments like hearing your baby’s first words to the lowest of lows, like when postpartum depression hits and times when you feel ugly as hell.

But what I want you to know is that all of these are normal and first time parents undergo these things. Your lives will definitely change, but there is nothing compared to the feeling that you get when you see your child for the first time.

Manila Workshops and The Parenting Emporium want to help you prepare for your lives as First Time Parents by sharing with you a series of workshops that you can attend. The first workshop will be on January 30, 2016.

This workshop is brought to you also by The Parenting Emporium and Stemcord Philippines, Inc. Here are the details of the workshop.
