City Chef: Yummy Food you can Eat Anytime, Anywhere!

We (EJ, me and Zeeka) got try out City Chef during our stay here in the hospital. I don’t know if it was a sign to finally encourage us to eat healthier, but that was really good food delivered to us. Let me tell you about what City Chef is in a while, but first, let me tell you about our nutrition scenario at home.

For those who really know me well, I don’t cook. I didn’t know how to boil an egg by myself before the age of 27. I only knew how to work with a rice cooker in the beginning of January THIS YEAR, since I lost my nanny. I hate to admit that, but it’s true. I knew how to cook pasta even before I learned how to cook rice. So the past few weeks was a crash course on cooking different dishes; Most of the dished though were actually stuff that I just heated. For example, my daughter’s baon and our baon for at least a week was rice and hotdog. Then, I knew they were getting sick and tired of it so I incorporated tuna into our meals. I chose tuna because it’s easy to heat and because I love Gold Seas Tuna. I also then added hard boiled eggs for breakfast, because I learned that we should eat 30 grams of protein within 30 minutes of waking up. And then, the latest one that I tried to cook was smoked bangus, which turned out to be shredded smoked bangus because when I was removing it from the pan, it broke down into bits and pieces.

As for veggies, I don’t really know how to cook vegetables, so let’s just leave it at that. There were no vegetables for my family for the past month.

I really don’t have the luxury of time to cook, so it is indeed a challenge to prepare meals that your family won’t get sick and tired of and to prepare meals that are actually both delicious and nutritious. So, going back to the sign, I learned about City Chef and ordered food from them to be delivered to the hospital where I am at today. I think it’s that whole ambiance of health that led me to choose cooked meals over fast food.

So City Chef met with my husband at the lobby of the hospital. City Chef is a new food delivery service that eliminates the hassle of cooking delicious and nutritious meals for your family. You need not go out also and spend for an expensive dinner, because you can enjoy it at home while watching shows on Netflix.  The service caters to people who value time, providing freshly cooked dishes to elevate their dining experience at the comfort of their homes. Each entrée is prepared by professional chefs. Meals from the uniquely prepared menu will then be delivered straight to your home from 5 PM to 7 PM, just in time for dinner.

I had City Chef for two days. Enjoy every dish with a group for only Php 450 (good for 2 -3 pax) or get a solo portion for only Php 250. I ordered the Php 450 portion.

This was what we got for Day 1 of City Chef 🙂

This was what we got for Day 2 of City Chef

I was so happy with our order! The meals were I feel COMPLETE. We had rice, protein and vegetables. The Php 450 portion was perfect for the three of us. We actually had some left for lunch the next day. Look at how huge the servings were.

My daughter who was sick and didn’t have much appetite had some of the delivered food and found it yummy! Feeding her during those nights wasn’t a problem.

I will definitely order City Chef moving forward. This will be one off from my list of things to worry about. Do you know that City Chef is also collaborating with up and coming chefs in the industry, starting with Chef Noelle Mauricio of Le Petit Soufflé and Ping Pong Diplomacy for the month of February? I love these two restaurants so I’m really looking forward to ordering this coming February.

To place your orders, all you have to do is log on to www.citychef.ph and click on the calendar to order daily or weekly! I order via their website and it’s so easy to order! You can use the code citychef200 to get Php 200 off from your full week family sized orders and is valid until February 28, 2018.

You may also opt to order directly at 0917 805 0280, at least two days before your preferred delivery date.

Being an believer of spending your time wisely, I definitely give City Chef PH a huge thumbs up!

Enjoy! Let’s eat!

Foodee: Enjoy Food Whenever… Wherever!

My view of FOOD is so different from my how my husband sees food. He always tells me that he sees food as something enjoyable; therefore, he eats very slowly. He enjoys each and every bite! I, on the other hand (he says), only see food as something that fuels my body. If I feel that my tank is almost empty, I gas up, in order to function properly. He says that I see food as something that helps me function, therefore, I eat really fast.

I really need to enjoy eating. Aside from the numerous benefits of chewing food slowly, it will also help remind me that life is too short to rush through it. Recently, I had a marvelous chat with my two friends, Charm and Jayjay. This husband and wife tandem are the proprietors of foodee. Foodee is a food delivery service but they deliver unique products.

We had a chat on branding and there are actually two types of food that they deliver. One branch is called Freezee. Freezee is their line of products that are delivered to your home still frozen.  Most of the Freezee products are dimsum. When I first saw these products, I instantly thought that these products are heaven sent for moms. All you need to do if you want to prepare these items is to thaw them and heat them. I tried some of the products and these were simply amazing. The dimsum were packed and every bite was worth it!

The other line of products that Foodee has is called Yummee. Yummee are their cooked items already and they deliver it to homes and offices.

Their specialties are really the porkchop and the Korean Squid. I have tried both and both are addicting! Don’t say I didn’t warn you. We ordered these two products and ate them at home for two weeks in a row!

Yummee Porkchop

Yummee Porkchop

What I find innovative about the Porkchop is that it’s a good alternative to the whole chicken that you normally order for parties or for guests who come to your house. The porkchop is also cooked uniquely and deliciously that your guests will definitely enjoy eating. I love that how it was cooked is sort of like the Salt and Pepper taste in Chinese restaurants that we all are fond of.

Yumee Korean Squid

I also love the way they cooked the Korean Squid. The squid was so tender! I don’t normally take rice but with this dish, I couldn’t stop myself. The other yummee dishes that they have are their Gambas, Stir Fry Curry and Stir Fry Noodles.
