The Philippine Homeschool Conference 2017: Educating for the World of Tommorow

We’ve been looking for schools now to Zeeka for next year. I’m still not decided as to where to send her. If I had the time though, I would have homeschooled her. I remember someone telling me that she thought I was homeschooling Zeeka, because I seemed like the “type”. But to be honest, there is no stereotype when it comes to the parent that would homeschool. Actually, any one can homeschool!

I was part of the organizing committee of the annual Homeschooling Conference last 2013 to 2015, and even if I let go of being part of the team, I will support them until forever! haha! I love these ladies to bits!

So for those of you who want to learn more about homeschooling, Homeschool Association of the Philippine Islands, or HAPI is inviting you to this event. HAPI is an organization that hopes to see home education recognised as an available and respected form of education, shaping leaders and movers who will build our nation. HAPI aims to do this by equipping organisations and homeschooling groups in growing the national movement and, thus, build the nation through homeschooling.

The annual Philippine Homeschool Conference by HAPI is one of the ways that they reach out and strengthen the community. The Philippine Homeschool Conference is a gathering full of information and inspiration for people who want to learn more about homeschooling, are just starting out, or want to improve their homeschooling experience. Aside from the talks, the attendees can get to visit different booths, purchase materials and get to know more about services and programs that may aid them in their homeschooling.

The Philippine Homeschool Conference 2016

Parents need to have the numerous and the best options when it comes to raising their children. It nice to see how a lot of things have changed since the time of our parents. I remember growing up without all of these new technology: no iPads, no smart phones, no internet. And with all of these new things, the available channels for our children to learn new things have increased exponentially, too.

With the fast paced lifestyle and with information readily available, lifestyle, habits and mindsets have also changed. In terms of education, the only choice that we had before was to go to school (as we know it) and listen to our teacher. A new option though has risen which is now believed to be an equally great option — homeschooling. Homeschooling or home education is when the parents personally teach their children.

For those who want to learn more about homeschooling, please do attend this conference!

PHC 2016-For Social Media Posts (with logos) -As of Sept 27)

This year, HAPI, in cooperation with Philam Life, is setting up the PHC to be even bigger and better than before. This event is set to take place from 7 a.m. (start of registration) to 6 p.m. on October 22, 2016 at the SMX Convention Center, SMX Aura Premier in Taguig City, the PHC 2016 with the theme “From Roots to Wings: Homeschooling through the Stages”.

Hoping to meet the needs and address the concerns of homeschooling families at different stages – from learning more about homeschooling, getting started, and staying the course perhaps even up to the end of high school – the theme was inspired by the following lines of this poem:

“If I could give you just two things,
One would be Roots, the other, Wings.”
Roots, not to tie you to the ground,
But to guide you to
where your fulfillment is found
The nourishing start, the firm
foundation,
The source of your inner determination.
Wings to soar over obstacles,
wings to fly free,
Wings to glide to the heights of the
best you can be.”

Bearing the theme in mind, the PHC 2016’s line-up of speakers includes international and local speakers who are passionate homeschooling advocates, and are also experienced homeschoolers. The PHC 2016 Expo is also sure to delight any homeschooler with its offerings of products and services that can help them provide their kids with a rich learning experience.

I guarantee that this event will not disappoint. If you want to know more about the Philippine Homeschool Conference 2016, please any of the following:

Homeschooling is Cool!

I have always admired parents who homeschool their children. Contrary to what people think of homeschooled children that they probably lack social skills, most of the homeschooled children that I have met are very confident and some are even really good at conversing with adults even. But what really impressed me is that these children are very independent.

As a parent, my wish is for my daughter to grow up to be an independent, happy and confident individual. I know that homeschooling can definitely help since the parents will always be the child’s best teacher.

My goal as a parent is to raise an independent child!

I’m in the stage of parenthood where I am looking at different practices, methods and looking at the experiences of other parents. I want to see and explore options especially in terms of education. One of the options that I am looking at is Homeschooling. I admire my friends who are homeschooling parents because it seems like it takes a great deal of patience to teach your children. It also seems like a homeschooling parent never runs out of ideas — they constantly need to be entertaining, fun, innovative, etc. so that their kids will learn. I love their passion for learning, too!

I want to be amidst these amazing parents. Do you want to join me as we meet these people. There will be a huge conference called the Philippine Homeschool Conference 2015: Ready for the World! at Samsung Galaxy Theater and SM Aura Convention Center. There will be international speakers also, who are all homeschooling parents and very experienced ones, too! Check out the details of the event in this link: http://manilaworkshops.com/PHC2015
