How are you REALLY? Injecting some Positivity!

I’ve noticed some changes with the way I think through things, the way I am with other people, the differences in my mood and how it changes abruptly, etc. I could go on listing more changes and more things that I’ve noticed, but rather than going on with that, I’d rather inject some positivity at this time. Injecting some positivity into things that I do helped me cope with factors that I can’t control.

I’ve been watching videos on Instagram and on YouTube, and there are some tips that I really find useful and some that make me feel worse than I’ve felt before watching the video.

I think what this pandemic has taught me is to learn how to distinguish things that I can control versus things that I can’t control.

So after feeling so “down” lately, what I did was I turned to one of my friends who is amazing. Her name is Trixie Esguerra.

Trixie Esguerra is the Philippines’ Vision Board Coach who helps people create powerful vision boards backed up by Science, grounded in Faith. She has done her signature Vision Board Parties for companies like FWD, ADB, Bayer, SMYPC, Manulife, Neutrogena, Sterling Bank, Tim Hortons, AIM and Louis Vuitton, to name a few. Also known as Positivitrix, she shares tips and tricks online to keep you positive!

We crated this video, and it was so much fun! I learned a lot from her. The really light and fun conversation was actually what I needed.

So if you’re feeling down and a little bit “off” lately, check this video out. Hope it helps you!

If you need someone to talk to… I’m just a comment away!

Visioning for Moms: How to Fulfill Your Life Goals while Raising a Family

The year is about to end and during the months of October to December, this is when I finalize my goals for next year. When I was employed, October was the month when we would set budget and goals for the upcoming year. Being a work-at-home-mom (or a housewife for some of us), I thank the heavens that I don’t have to do all these things. Going through and listing goals and budgets and targets are such tedious things to do. Kakatamad naman talaga! (We are lazy to do these things). As a SAHM or WAHM or WAHW, there would be no one to urge you to create a list of goals.

What we don’t realize is that we need to set goals for ourselves. What happens oftentimes is that we just go with the flow and see what happens. What happens is that our life as mothers and wives becomes too routinary that we feel sad, depressed, bored, unfulfilled, etc. We wake up in the morning, see to it that the kids are okay and ready to go to school. We then bring them to school, go home and clean the house, cook, wash the dishes. We then have time to check Facebook, ‘work’ using our laptops and after that, we realize that it’s time to pick up the kids. Upon arriving home, we tutor our kids, cook dinner, wash the dishes and play Candy Crush until we fall asleep. Every so often, we think about our life and sometimes, we even wish that we were doing something more — something for ourselves or something for humanity even. We sometimes day dream that we were like Oprah with her own personal chef and personal shoppers. We sometimes wish that we had our own personal assistant whom we can just order around to go run and do errands for us (I just had this thought this morning). But reality is, we are stuck with what we have… or are we really?

This is where VISIONING can come in handy. I always hear my dad say, visualize and everything that you see and think of as yours will be yours. Will it happen magically? Is he over acting.

I’ve heard stories though of people who have really created vision boards and they have actually achieved what was in their boards after a few years. Maybe it is time to give it a try.

For moms and dads, husbands and wives who want to try creating a vision board and who want learn about goal setting and beyond, Manila Workshops and Optimommy has created a workshop for you.
